Dude São Thiago is a Brazilian artist with a diverse and multifaceted career, connected to music, the dramatic arts, and the care and knowledge of souls and hearts.
He graduated as an actor and a physician, specializing in psychiatry. Subsequently, he ventured into theater direction and playwriting, eventually becoming a psychoanalyst and a professor. After a ten-year hiatus from the stage, Dude returned to the scene in 2023 through music, presenting himself as a performer and composer.
His debut in the realm of digital releases occurs in 2024 when he launches his first single, “Magrelinha,” by Luiz Melodia, along with his first original song, “Mitiê,” in which he presents himself as an identity void, from which different colors can blossom.
In the same year, he records the album “O Sexo do Vento,” which serves as a gateway for important composers from Brazilian popular music (MPB) – Chico Buarque, Marina Lima, Marisa Monte, João Bosco, Aldir Blanc, Vinicius Calderoni, Vitor Ramil, and many others. In addition to the beautiful songs, the album also includes fragments of his original poetic texts, tying together what Dude refers to as a narrative-album or songbook, going against the excessive speeds of contemporary times, the times of combustion (set to be released in 2025). Simultaneously, he is also planning his first original album, featuring his own compositions and collaborations.
Dude views art as a path of adventure, care, transformation, and movement, betting on the open words of poetry and the elegance of music as means of coexistence and healing. Innovative, inventive, and curious, he traverses the world, balancing between homage to and critique of traditions, perceiving in the ephemeral beauties of the world proof of its vitality and freedom. His extensive and transcultural journey, spanning different fields of knowledge, is evident in his works, themes, and creations.
