Jigs, a Swedish dance band, was established in 1966 in Trollhättan. The dansband gained prominence in the 1970s with several hit singles including "Hallå du gamle indian" (1972) and "Dardanella" (1976). Their breakthrough came with the release of their album series titled Goa bitar, which began in 1972. Notable albums from this series include Goa bitar 1 through Goa bitar 4, all released between 1972 and 1974. The band's popularity continued into the late 1970s with releases like Goa bitar 5 (1975) and Goa Bitar 7 Skateboard (1978). Jigs also notably performed at Cortina in Vinberg on July 16, 1976, where AC/DC appeared as a pause act. Their later albums include Shirley (1982), Egna drömmar (1983), and Blå hav (1985). Jigs disbanded in 1992 but has had sporadic reunion concerts.
