I got some new tuna for you. Spark Me is out now.
What is music? Why do we like it? Why this song and not that one? And why so many questions?
Music is more than just entertainment. It’s a fascinating, complex part of the human experience—physical, cultural, intimate, social, intellectual, spiritual, and all at once.
Exposed to music early and driven by curiosity, I started with a tape recorder and a Yamaha keyboard from my dad. Napster opened me to a vast mix of good and bad music, from Hip Hop to 80s Synth Pop, Indie Rock, Trip Hop, Techno, Dub, Ambient, Classic, and Folk. I was surprised by how music shapes our social circles.
As I got into production, I built a home studio, experimenting with genres under different artist names. Though life took over, I never gave up. Making music is not a job but an essential part of me, with its ups and downs.
One of my early artist names was Skizzo Franick. The sound draws from breakbeat and trip hop artists like Nightmares On Wax, RJD2, Mr. Scruff, and dub-influenced acts like Thievery Corporation and Kruder & Dorfmeister. It’s a warm, organic sound with smoky, downtempo grooves.
