Born in 2024 in Sobral, Pulsive features Zé Wellington on vocals, Cláudio Roberto and Mateus Elildo on guitars and Danilo Costa on drums, synths and production. On their first album, the band focuses on fusing modern metal with electronic elements, influenced by post-hardcore bands such as Bring Me The Horizon, Bad Omens and Underoath, while also adding the tradition of melodic deathcore bands such as Parkway Drive, As I Lay Dying and Killswitch Engage.
The main track of “Act 1” is “Paralelos”, which merges the band’s hometown with direct references to the song “Paralelas”, by the singer Belchior from Sobral, with the metal musical influences of the members, here gathered around “Parallels”, a song by the band As I Lay Dying, directly referenced in the song’s chorus. “Parallels” talks about distancing ourselves from people we thought we were similar to, to the point of becoming parallel to them: similar, but unable to connect with each other anymore. This distancing can occur for a number of reasons, such as adult issues or even differences in ways of thinking.
