My new EP "Hipofrenia" is about to be born! ˖°⋆ 11/10
Mar Entre Sonido is a Mexican singer-songwriter and producer who translates Latin American magical realism into music, intertwining magic with emotion. Based in Mexico City, her sound moves between pop and alternative rock, with influences from dreampop, metalcore, and ambient music. Throughout mystical and poetic lyrics, she explores themes such as introspection, death, and mental health through a fantastical lens, with the aim of creating spaces for empathy, imagination, and emotional connection.
Following the release of her debut album Ex Libris (2023), co-composed with producer and multi-instrumentalist Aruh (member of Tulkas and Afterglow), the artist is preparing for the launch of "Hipofrenia", a conceptual EP of four “lullabies for extremely sensitive people” that explores new sonic territories, blending pads, vocal layers, and electronic percussion. The singles "Hipofrenia", "Canción de cuna para llorar", and "Eutanasia" anticipate the emotional journey of this new material.
True to her imaginative, sensitive, and miraculous vision, the artist is currently composing her second album, with the mission of continuing to challenge sonic experimentation. Mar Entre Sonido draws inspiration from artists like Björk, AURORA, Kalandra, Ichiko Aoba, Agnes Obel, and Mabe Fratti.
