Howl is an American sludge metal ensemble formed in 2006 in Providence, Rhode Island. The group was established by Vincent Hausman, Jonathan Hall, Josh Durocher-Jones, Jesse “Carl” Riley, and Nick Kasten. The band signed with Relapse Records in 2009 and reissued its eponymous EP. Howl collaborated with engineer Keith Souza to record its debut studio album, Full of Hell, which appeared in May 2010. The group performed as a support act for Skeletonwitch on a 2010 tour and appeared at the SXSW festival. In 2011, the ensemble participated in the Metalliance Tour alongside Helmet and Saint Vitus. The band released a music video for the recording “Heavenless” in May 2011. Its second studio recording, Bloodlines, was released through Relapse Records in April 2013. The band's lineup featured former members including Andrea Black and Robert Icaza.
