Fine China, an American indie rock band from Phoenix, Arizona, was formed in 1996 by Rob Withem, Danny McWatters, and Melissa Banks. After Banks' departure, Greg Markov joined as the bassist. The band released their first EP No One Knows through Velvet Blue Music in 1997. In 1998, they released another EP titled Rialto Bridge. McWatters left in 1999, and Thom Walsh joined as the drummer. Fine China signed with Tooth & Nail Records and released their debut album, When The World Sings, in 2000. Their second album, You Make Me Hate Music, followed in 2002. The band went on an indefinite break following a performance at the New Times Best Of festival in 2006 and became inactive until 2017, when they reunited to record their fourth album, Not Thrilled.
