Maria Waldelurdes Costa de Santana Dutilleux, known professionally as Daúde, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter born on September 23, 1961, in Salvador. She began studying voice and theater at age 18 and earned degrees in Portuguese and literature. Santana Dutilleux released her debut studio album, Daúde, in 1995 through Natasha Records. The recording featured covers of songs by Jorge Ben Jor and Caetano Veloso and received the Sharp Award from the APCA and the Jornal do Brasil Readers' Award. In 1997, she released Daúde #2, which included a Portuguese language version of the song “Pata Pata”. Following the 1999 remix album Simbora, she became the first Brazilian artist signed to Real World Records. She released the album Neguinha, Te Amo through the label in 2003. Her fifth studio album, Código Daúde, was released in 2015 and featured covers of standards by Alceu Valença and Marcos Valle.
