Our Fourth Single "Heaven" Out Now!
We are MVSO, the collaborative project between songwriter and vocalist duo Mat Vairo and Saumon Oboudiyat. What started as a space to play music as friends in 2021 has since bloomed into a collection of songs which capture the conversations and reflections of the happenings in our lives and beyond - with motifs around life and death, setting boundaries, and the fleeting nature of time.
'Hold Clear' is the first single off of our debut EP, 'Proprioception' - set to release in Spring 2024. 'Proprioception' was co-produced by Lora-Faye Åshuvud (Arthur Moon) with additional tracking by Spencer Zahn on Piano and Bass and Sarah Galdes on Drums. Mixing by Noah Georgeson (Devendra Banhart, Andy Shauf, Nora Jones, The Strokes) and Mastering by Philip Shaw Bova (Feist, Bahamas, Father John Misty).
With our unique, dark, yet uplifting sound, differing vocal ranges, and raw guitar arrangements mixed with electronic elements, we aim to create a sound that is both contemplative and accessible, haunting and peaceful. Within that, our music and lyrics thread through themes of light and darkness, familiarity and strangeness, the intimate and the cosmic, the personal and the universal.
