Liverpool’s Philly D is a UK based rapper known for his drill, Afro-swing and Afro Beats sounds mixed with UK rap. Born ‘Philip Djan’ in Ghana, He launched his music career under the stage name Philly D.
With a lifelong passion for music, Philly D has been writing from a young age and it was only during the COVID-19 lockdown that he decided to share his music with the world.
Inspired massively by J Hus, Kokoroko and Santan Dave, Philly D’s other musical influences also include Old School Hip Hop and Ghana Highlife Music
In 2022 a Track which saw Philly D Collaborate with Liverpool Artists PaisleighB and 5TN Deep titled ‘Take My Time’ was choosen by BBC 1Xtra as their ‘Track of the Week’ and featured on radio shows hosted by Lady Leeshur, Mark Bright, ACE and Sian Anderson.
