Real name Marwan Douiri, rapper Emino was born in La Manouba, a town in the northwest suburbs of Tunis (the capital of Tunisia), on September 23, 1990. His interest in rap began when he was just ten years old, and he was inspired by American role models such as Snoop Dogg and 2Pac. He was just 14 when he was about to release his first album, Moujehidin, but it was censored and never saw the light of day. In 2009, Don Cameleon was released, followed in 2010-2011 by the "Jasmine Revolution" in Tunisia, which led to the departure of Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali, President of the Republic of Tunisia since 1987. Emino released the album Mi-Ange Mi-Démon, featuring tracks such as "Loin de ce monde " and "Mi-ange mi-démon", before being arrested for cannabis consumption along with two other rappers, Madou MC and Weld El 15. The man who then praised the easy life, alcohol and drugs in his tracks, while denouncing police repression, released the track "Paralysé " again in 2014 before surprising his fans and announcing his departure for Syria to join the ranks of the Islamic State as a jihadist. According to several sources, it was there that he died between 2016 and 2017 during an air strike by Russian planes on the city of Raqqa.
