Watershed, a South African pop rock band, was formed in Johannesburg in 1998. The group consisted of Craig Warren Hinds on lead vocals, piano, and acoustic guitar; Paul McIver on guitar and vocals; Howard Combrink on drums; Gideon Botes on guitar; and Quintin Askes on bass. Their breakthrough came with the release of their single "Indigo Girl" in 2002, which gained international attention when a German radio DJ played it on air during his vacation in South Africa. This exposure led to significant success for Watershed, including a tour in June 2010 with MacStanley through Germany as part of the Rock Kick Off tour hosted by Imusic1. Their discography includes notable albums such as In the Meantime (2002), which achieved platinum status, and Mosaic (2005), which also reached platinum. The band's song "Fine Way" was featured in an advert for the restaurant chain Wimpy in 2004, further expanding their reach. In 2006, drummer Tulsa Pittaway left the group to join Evolver (later renamed Evolver One) and released a solo album. Other significant releases include "Live Another Day" (2006) and their compilation album A Million Faces (2010). Craig Hinds also pursued a solo career, releasing his first album, Ordinary Boy, in 2013. Over the following years, the group continued to perform and record, releasing the albums Harbour (2018) and Elephant in the Room (2021).
