Morriston Orpheus Choir, a male voice choir based in Morriston, near Swansea, Wales, was formed on April 23, 1935, by Ivor E. Sims. The choir achieved its first major success at the Royal National Eisteddfod in Machynlleth in 1937. Under various musical directors, including Alwyn Humphreys and Sian Pearce, the choir broadened its repertoire and gained an international reputation. Notable albums include A Grand Night For Singing (1976) with The Band of HM Royal Marines, Myfanwy (1988), and Côr Orpheus Treforys (60 Years Of Song) (1994). The choir has performed in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Sydney Opera House, and St Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. In 2021, Conal Bembridge-Sayers became the musical director following Joy Amman Davies' retirement.
