Hailing from the town of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Matt Schultz, Brad Schultz, Jared Champion, Lincoln Parish and Daniel Tichenor found themselves initially enjoying chart success as Cage the Elephant a long way from home, in the UK. Signed up by Relentless, the group released single 'Free Love' in 2007, which earned the quintet a support slot on The Pigeon Detectives' tour in 2008. When they released their next single, 'Ain't No Rest for the Wicked', it also broke the UK chart and they followed it up with a self-titled debut that enjoyed solid success and garnered positive reviews from the critics. Their second album, 'Thank You, Happy Birthday', did better with their home US crowd, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200. Although forming five years previously, as Cage the Elephant began to expand their American fan base, they were awarded the top place in Rolling Stone's poll 'Best New Artist of 2011'. Their third album 'Melophobia' emerged two years later, shortly before they went out on the road as the opening act for Muse. 'Tell Me I'm Pretty' was released as their fourth album in 2015, their first record since the departure of guitarist Parish, produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach.
