Christopher Branin Morgan, known professionally as Ace Akai, is an American record producer. Music has always been a part of his life. He grew up with tons of classic rock. He started learning drums when was around 13-years-old, and has been a drummer at heart ever since. In his mid-teenage years, he discovered hip-hop for the first time through Eminem. Amazed at the lyricism and production, he kept digging deeper and deeper into rap. From older, classic rappers like Nas, Rakim, Wu-Tang Clan, and Outkast, to newer rappers like Logic, Mac Miller, J. Cole, and countless others, he became a pretty well-versed hip-hop head. Listening to a lot in very short time, he wanted to dabble in music production himself. He bought his first MIDI keyboard, an Akai MPK Mk2, and started by remaking his favorite beats. Eventually, he started making his own compositions. Now, he works on beats daily. He tries to give homage to some of his heroes by incorporating similar styles as them, while also building his own sound. The most influential producers to his sound are 6ix, J Dilla, Kanye West, Tommee Profitt, and RZA. He is currently studying at Full Sail University in the Recording Arts field. He is consistently working to improve his craft by working on his own music and collaborating with other artists whenever he can. He wants to share his music with whoever will listen, and hopes to help his audience vibe, relax, think, and ultimately enjoy his music.
