Previously known as LxneDxvah, Bobby Goforth (PrivateFuneral), from the small town of York, South Carolina, had always been fascinated by music. He grew up with many different genres of music such as hip-hop and heavy metal. His father, also being a musician, taught him much about music over the years and still does. It was on June 6th, 2019 when Bobby recorded his first song using Bandlab and a broken phone. He wanted a way to express himself since he always found it hard to express himself through words. Bobby always relied on music to cope with personal struggles with artists such as XXXTENTACION, My Chemical Romance, Juice WRLD, and Twenty One Pilots. Originally under the name GONER, Bobby would change his alias many times before ultimately sticking with PrivateFuneral in February of 2023. He was under LxneDxvah for the longest period of time releasing multiple projects under the name. Later in November of 2019, Bobby would go on to record his most popular song to date, Valentine. He recorded this using Audacity on his fathers old laptop and his fathers guitar. He was only 13 years old. After releasing the song in an EP titled LOSER, he would send the song to Norwegian producer CapsCtrl. Valentine would be sampled in a beat that CapsCtrl would upload to YouTube on December 6th, 2019. This gained Bobby (who was then under the alias LxneDxvah) much recognition. The beat would go on to be purchased by Australian artist RØNIN for his song ALL GIRLS ARE THE SAME that would gain millions of streams across all platforms and reach placements on charts across the world in mid 2020. In early 2020, Bobby released his first full length album under the name LxneDxvah with established lofi producer Closed On Sunday. The album was made from late 2019 through early 2020 and was released with 10 songs on February 14th, 2020. Bobby would go on to collaborate with many artists throughout the years such as Matthew The Artist, Peyton Grace, leevayyy, Loflyier, SABRE, Ikeydiz, Valak Kiing, BEJI, FALLACY a.d.d., killfiji, po9t, Twenyohthree, MIKEYMCCHOPPA, and many more. In 2020, Bobby formed a duo with Matthew The Artist where they would collaborate under the name LOCKERS. LOCKERS would later be transformed into a full collective in 2021 but disbanded back into a duo in December of 2022 after the release of Bobby’s second album OBLIVION in the summer of 2021. In November of 2021, Bobby released his first self-produced album, My Heart Lies Here, with the help of his brother, father, and Peyton Grace. In 2022, Bobby released his album SOMBER and the sequel, SOMBER: 2006, with collaborations from artists such as CapsCtrl, Puhf, po9t, leevayyy, FALLACY a.d.d., and cry2jodii (also known as Scruffpuppie). In February of 2023, after Bobby recorded his song I Can’t See Myself, he took on the name of PrivateFuneral as he felt he had outgrown the alias of LxneDxvah as not only an artist but as a person. From January through April of 2023, Bobby recorded his first album under PrivateFuneral titled Dance With The Devil where he opened up about his personal struggles with depression, anxiety, shame, and forgiveness as well as other issues. He released this album on April 14th, 2023. Bobby plans to help people through his music as well as grow as a person through creating his craft. He has hopes of longevity and evolution as his career continues. (Written on June 20th, 2023)
