Looking forward to my new release 'Into Stillness' - 7th of June!
Music has always been my life. Singing, choirs, piano, guitars, other instruments, pop bands, vocal groups – you name it. In one way or another, music is there. Professionally I headed into medicine, but my heart has kept its passion for creating music. Now music also bounce between the walls of our house when my children make music. Writing my own music started in childhood, new melodies often wanted to pour out over the keys. A year back, I started composing instrumental neoclassical piano music more intentionally, a process triggered by my wife, who needed music for her poetry podcast.
When I sit by the piano, I experiment with harmony, dissonance and atonality, trying to find interesting glimpses of music. If it gets too sweet, without any resistance, I tend start over. But I also look for beauty. I want to find the music that creates interest, that opens the door to the inside of us. If my music can evoke longing, maybe shine some light, touch the souls of my listeners – if my music finds that home to dwell in, I find peace too.
