Bappa Mazumder, named as Shubhashish Mazumder, is a Bangladeshi singer, lyricist, and composer born on February 5, 1972. Born into a musical family, Mazumder received his first guitar lessons from his brother, Partha Sharothi Mazumder. In 1996, Mazumder formed the rock band Dalchhut with Sanjeeb Choudhury and released his debut solo album, Tokhon Bhor Bela. His solo discography included the albums Kothao Keu Nei (1997), Hridoyer Canvas (1998), Rater Train (1999), and Dhulo Pora Chithi (2001). In 2017, Mazumder received the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Composer for the song “Na Jani Kon Oporadhey” from the film Swatta. His career involved the release of fifteen solo albums and several recordings with Dalchhut.
