Katie Herzig is an American singer-songwriter and musician born on March 6, 1980, in California. Raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, she began her career in 1997 by forming the band Newcomers Home, which blended elements of pop, folk, and bluegrass. After the group disbanded in 2006, Herzig relocated to Nashville to focus on her solo career. She had previously released her debut album, Watch Them Fall, in 2004, and followed it with the self-produced Weightless in 2006. In 2007, she earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for co-writing the song “Heaven's My Home”. Her success continued with the pop-oriented album Apple Tree in 2008 and The Waking Sleep in 2011. Her music has been featured prominently in television series such as Grey's Anatomy and One Tree Hill. Herzig later released the studio albums Walk Through Walls in 2014 and Moment of Bliss in 2018.
