Monitor Collective has been one of Colombia’s most sophisticated artists within the alternative sphere. With their debut album “Monitor” dropped in 2016, producers Mauricio García (Latin Grammy award winner), Camilo Sánchez and visual artist Giancarlo Orsi, were acclaimed as a magical and innovative sound universe, resonating far and wide, earning them national radio's nod as one of the best albums of the year. From electronic stages at Sonar Bogotá (Warm Up), Festival Hermoso Ruido, and Red Bull Music Academy at BOMM, the collective have set the stage on fire using technology and image to enhance the musical experience. In 2019 their EP "Huellas" came out, sparking a tour in Colombia and earning a spot on the soundtrack of Netflix's series "Crime Diaries, Night Out."
Made between Los Angeles and Bogotá, their second album "Universal" (2023) embodies Monitor Collective's tribal and electronic influences. A nature-inspired album, through synths, samples and technology, paints a groovy, yet astounding, picture through music which includes a few songs featuring special guests such as Walt Anderson (Kool & The Gang), Mireya (Flor de Toloache) and Frank Lukas (Motherflowers). All being said, "Universal" is an immersive experience filled with ear-worms record for electronic music fans and general listeners, something you could play and dance anywhere, day or night.
