3kStatic is an American electronica ensemble formed in 1998 by Dean Capone, Jeremy Dickens, and Justin Katz. The group released its debut studio recording, Perversion: for Profit, in 2004, which utilized sampled audio from a 1965 film. The band's music appeared on the soundtrack of the MTV program Real World. In 2006, the recording Where's Our Piece of the Groovy World was a candidate for Best Electronic/Dance Album at the 50th Grammy Awards. The ensemble received a second nomination for Voodoo Science at the 51st Grammy Awards. Sony Creative Software released the recording Evolver in 2009. The single “Projected Tones” reached number 12 on the National Dance Chart in Canada in 2009. Capone became the sole member in 2014 and released the recording The New Truth in 2015. Subsequent studio recordings included Gunrubber (2022).
