Xaviera Gold emerged as a Chicago-based dance music vocalist and former DJ on WBMX-FM. Her early career featured the 1987 single “You Used To Hold Me” with Ralphi Rosario, released under the name Xavier Gold, which introduced her to the club scene. In 1991 she released “Hold Me Again”, followed by the 1992 single “Gonna Get Back To You”, a collaboration with Masters At Work that reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. The 1994 track “You Used To Hold Me ’94” returned her to the Top Ten of the dance chart, and the 1994 single “Good Luv”achieved a Top Thirty position. Singles such as “Bad Girls” (1995) and “Walkin’ Out Da Door” (2007) extended her presence in the genre. Xaviera Gold’s chart successes and collaborations with prominent house producers solidified her role in the American dance music landscape.
