Maria Igual grew up by the Meditarranean Sea in Benicassim, Spain and later on lived around the word for more than fifteen years... Ohio, Lyon, Paris, Caracas, Miami, Singapore, London...
Jazz Lyrics is the new project by Chema Peñalver and Maria Igual: "It´s been sooo wonderful to write the lyrics for Chema´s compositions. They talked to me and were guiding with the mood, the feeling... everything. Thought my studies of dramatic art wouldn´t be that helpful, but in fact they were... When he told me his idea about the song I could get into his character and express what he would feel, but taking it from my depths.."
It was freshly recorded on the first takes with Toni Porcel on the trumpet, Chema Peñalver tenor saxophone and clarinete, Celso Sorribes soprano saxophone, Fernando Serra baritone saxophone, Cesar Carro piano, Natxo Navarro double bass and Carlos Mercado on the drums.
She feels lucky to dedicate to her two passions: singing and teaching yoga.
