Radiojazzgruppen, a Swedish jazz big band, was formed in 1967. Initially led by Arne Domnérus and later by Lennart Åberg, the group featured several prominent Swedish musicians including Ulf Andersson, Jan Allan, and Rune Gustafsson. The band's early years were marked by collaborations with notable guest musicians such as Carla Bley, Anthony Braxton, and Don Cherry. In 1968, Radiojazzgruppen released their debut album Den korta fristen featuring compositions by Jan Johansson. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, they continued to work with composers like Gil Evans and George Russell, contributing significantly to Sweden's jazz scene.
