Franco Capuana, born on September 29, 1894, in Fano, Italy, was an Italian conductor. He studied harmony and composition at the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples, winning the Gianturco prize for composition in 1915. His professional career began as an assistant to Franco Ghione at Reggio d'Émilie that same year. Capuana worked with notable conductors such as Pietro Mascagni and Giovanni Zuccani. He conducted premieres of operas, including L'ultimo Lord in 1930 and Margherita da Cortona in 1938. His discography includes recordings of operas by Puccini, Verdi, and Donizetti. Capuana passed away on December 10, 1969, in Naples.
