Espers, an American psychedelic folk rock band from Philadelphia, was formed in 2002. The group initially consisted of Greg Weeks, Meg Baird, and Brooke Sietinsons, who were later joined by Otto Hauser, Helena Espvall, and Chris Smith. Their debut album, Espers, was released in 2004 on Locust Music. This was followed by The Weed Tree in 2005, an album of cover songs featuring artists such as Nico and the Durutti Column. In 2006, Espers released their third album, II, under Drag City. Their fourth album, III, was released in 2009. Throughout their career, the band collaborated with various notable artists including Nick Castro and Vashti Bunyan.
