Natasha St-Pier (born February 10, 1981) is a French-Canadian vocalist of Acadian descent whose lush romantic ballads have enjoyed great success on both sides of the Atlantic. A precocious performer, St-Pier took piano and dancing lessons during her childhood and rose to fame by becoming the youngest contestant to ever make it to the finals on Canadian TV talent show Le Pouvoir de la Chanson. She made her official debut with the single “Le Parcours du Coeur,” which was followed by Émergence (1996), her first full-length. In 1999, St-Pier was cast as Fleur-de-Lys in the English version of the musical comedy Notre-Dame de Paris, which was followed by her second album, À Chacun Son Histoire (2000). Shortly after, she was chosen to represent France in the 46th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with Robert Goldman’s “Je n'ai que mon âme,” achieving an impressive fourth place. The track, which peaked at Number 2 on the French charts, helped St-Pier get a gold record for her sophomore effort. Aided by the hit single “Tu trouveras,” De L'amour Le Mieux (2002) went gold in her native Canada and double platinum in France, earning her a Victoires de la Musique award for Best Newcomer of the Year in 2003. More success ensued with L'Instant d'Après (2004) and Longueur d’Ondes (2006), which topped the French Albums Chart aided by lead single “Un ange frappe à ma porte.” Following the tepid commercial performance of Natasha St-Pier (2008) and Bonne Nouvelle (2012), the Acadian chanteuse became a host for TV show Les Chansons d’abord and joined Belgian reality TV music competition The Voice in 2012 as a coach. She resumed her music career with the traditional folk stylings of Mon Acadie (2015) and the children’s album L'Alphabet des Animaux (2017). Subsequently, she teamed up with Christian rock band Glorious for Thérèse de Lisieux – Aimer C'est Tout Donner (2018), an ambitious project that turned some of the French saint’s most famous poems into songs. At the turn of the decade, she came back with the singles “Viens sois ma lumière,” “Mon coeur sera ton coeur,” and “Sancta Maria,” all of which were featured on Croire (2020), St-Pier’s tenth long-player.
