Songs that break your heart and heal it at the same time.
From her home base in Minnesota, Sarah Peterson is fearlessly carving out her own unique space as a songwriter. With soulful, honest lyrics she is driven to meet the listener in the messiness of life so they feel understood. She delivers strong yet tender sounds reminiscent of Madi Diaz, Fleetwood Mac and Lori McKenna with lyrics that shine a light on the achingly beautiful gift of being alive.
Sarah’s upcoming album Singing to the Angels started organically and almost accidentally after a song, co-written with artist Amrita Soon & lyricist Jahnavi Goldstein came to life. This seemingly simple song about a tree at the side of a road wouldn’t leave her alone…so she recorded it on a recent trip to Nashville…and it grew into an album.
Through the songs on this album Sarah seeks to connect with people who are dealing with all sorts of different kinds of loss. She wants the music to meet the listener where they're at no matter where that is. She understands from personal experience that sometimes life is just really hard...but wants people to know that things will be ok, even if things are not ok. She hopes to bring a small light to the darkness, helping the listener feel less alone and soothe their aching heart…even if just for a few minutes.
