Born and raised in Cross River, Nigeria, Ononse Ekuri, known as "Ononi," combines the raw emotion of R&B with the eclectic styles of Alté and Afrofusion. Her music resonates deeply and moves effortlessly. As a singer, songwriter, and dance artist, she pours her passion into every lyric, beat, and performance.
Despite coming from a non-musical background, Ononi's love for music is unyielding. In 2022, she made her debut with "Extents," followed by her first EP, "Ononimous," which boldly introduced her evolving sonic universe. In 2024, she released her second project, titled "Lover and a Fighter."
