Born and based in Norway, Luna Acantha is a composer, self-taught pianist, guitarist and clarinet player. Her undying love for not only classical music, but also ancient art, literature and poetry, shapes her work on the piano today. With a versatile and unique style, she tends to make songs sound like an ancient novel. Sometimes heavy and nostalgic, sometimes bright and down-to-earth.
She seamlessly blends diverse dark and mysterious sounds with techniques that can best be described as comfortably airy. Her touch is always genuinely poetic.
Luna grew up in a musical family with her dad being a concert pianist and her mom conducting a pop choir. Luna herself became enamored with the piano at the age of 5 when she first attended one of her dad’s piano concerts. She then relentlessly started to play the piano herself as often as she could.
Sapere aude (Dare to know) is Luna’s guiding principle. Luna finds inspiration in all that’s hidden. In addition to sharing her music, she is also dedicated to finding out as much about the Unknown as possible.
