Uxía Domínguez Senlle, known professionally as Uxía, was born on November 19, 1962 in Sanguiñeda, Mos, Spain. She is a Galician folk singer who began her musical journey at a young age. Uxía's career took off when she won first prize at the Festival de Bergantiños in 1985. Her debut album, Foliada de Marzo, was released in 1986, showcasing her traditional Galician roots. In 1987, she joined the folk group Na Lúa. Uxía's solo career continued with Entre Cidades in 1991. Her breakthrough came with Estou vivindo no ceo in 1995, produced by Júlio Pereira, which received critical acclaim across Europe and led to her first international tour. She received recognition for her contributions to Galician music, winning the Premio da Crítica Galicia in 2016 and the Premio al Mejor álbum de música de Raíz in 2012 for Meu Canto.
