RyanDan, the Canadian classical‑crossover duo formed by identical twin brothers Ryan Kowarsky and Dan Kowarsky, were born on 5 December 1979 in Toronto, Ontario; Ryan is the elder by three minutes and left‑handed while Dan is right‑handed. Growing up in a musically inclined Jewish family, the twins were exposed to opera and pop from an early age, a background that shaped their vocal style. Their first commercial breakthrough came with the single "Like The Sun" in September 2007, which preceded the release of their full‑length album RyanDan (2007‑09‑24), recorded with producer Steve Anderson and released under Universal Records.
