Sprung from the mind of New York born producer, vocalist, and visual artist, Aurelia (She/They) summons melancholic healing. Crooning over experimental electronics, they rally the wide-ranging influences of opera, global rhythms, old-world instrumentation and spirited vocals.
Aurelia turned to songwriting and music production with a single-minded voracity during Winter of 2019, when a suicide attempt, hospitalization and PTSD diagnosis pushed them to live by their own terms.
Garnering over 300,000 digital plays in just 6 inaugural months, debut single ‘Wax’ (November, 2021) and its subsequent remixes received ecstatic industry acclaim from EDM.com, RiverBeats, and more. The debut single’s accompanying music video- a masterpiece carved from a $400 budget was featured as an official selection of the Dam Film Fest and Indie Shorts Fest (Lost Angeles International Film Festival official category), and was a Best Music Video, Best Director (Aurelia), + Best Original Composition nominee in January 2022.
Aurelia’s sophomore single release ‘Sinister Things’ surpassed its predecessor, it accumulating over 400,000 global streams in the initial 6 months and charting on iTunes Canada’s Electronic charts at #70. A survivor anthem about autonomy and reclaiming power from cycles of abuse, the track amplified headway with press, with features in Illustrate Magazine, Glasse Factory, Fame Mag UK, among others, and popular indie blog CLOUT Magazine lauding them as “[...]one of the most exciting emerging talents in recent memory”.
Collaboratively, Aurelia has worked as a creative vessel for other notable acts. Their songwriting visuals, and photography have helped to cultivate the likes of MOTHICA, MOONZz, and Ehiorobo, as well as notable conglomerates PUMA, Mercedez Benz, and Coca-Cola. Their photography is internationally recognized in Alternative Press (July 2022), RockSound (July 2022), NUMERO Netherlands (Spring 2024), DJ MAG (June 2024), and many more.
