"The positive message that Kaboose brings to the Hip Hop game come from surviving a difficult childhood. His birth parents' divorce, an abusive stepfather, and a move from his birthplace of San Jose, CA, to northern Minnesota all drove the young Kaboose to look for solace in music. After being introduced to the Beastie Boys and Run-D.M.C. by his cousin, Kaboose fell in love with hip-hop. A heart attack at the age of 17 turned his head around and influenced Kaboose to strengthen his relationship with God.
Since then, Kaboose has performed with artists Lecrae, Skillet, Newsboys, Toby Mac, Pigeon John, Westside Connection, and Tech N9ne. He has collaborated with Yahoo and Nike and has been featured in Hip-Hop Magazines XXL and The Source. He is currently working at a University that supports Native American students, performing shows, attending school assemblies, and writing workshops for Native youth."
