American singer and multi-instrumentalist Neal Morse (born in Van Nuys, California, August 2, 1960) divides his career between two styles: neo-progressive rock and Christian rock. He formed his first major band, Spock's Beard, in 1992, while launching his solo career with a first homonymous recording in 1999. That same year, he joined the progressive supergroup Transatlantic. The following decade saw the release of the albums Testimony (2003), Sola Scriptura (2007), andSo Many Roads: Live (2009). At the same time, his spiritual songbooks Mighty to Save (2010) and limited editions for members of his impressive fan club were released. The second part of a dyptic, Testimony Two is followed the same year by its live counterpart Testimony Two: Live in Los Angeles. After the solo album Momentum (2014), the musician formed The Neal Morse Band. The band, which includes Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Randy George, Bill Hueber and Eric Gillette, records The Great Experiment (2015), The Similitude of a Dream (2016) and The Great Adventure (2019). Moving from an album of Christian songs to neo-progressive escapes, the keyboardist subsequently records Jesus Christ the Exorcist (2019), Sola Gratia (2020) and, as a group, Innocence & Danger (2021). He begins a collaboration with D'Virgilio on Troika (2022), followed by Sophomore (2023) and a conceptual series with The Dreamer: Joseph - Part One (2023) and The Restoration: Joseph - Part Two (2024). The same year sees the progressive No Hill for a Climber under the title Neal Morse & the Resonance.
