A new ambient EP, Endless Vanishing Lines, released on Ambient Soundscapes
French musician Philippe Deschamps blends dreamlike atmospheres with neoclassical harmonies, full of textures in perpetual transformation. Within the ambient genre, his music seeks to create moments of deep listening conducive to contemplation and dreaming.
Trained in classical piano and art school, he first played bass and guitar in several rock bands, before studying sound at film school. Becoming a sound editor enabled him to write his first film scores. Inspired by William Basinski and Brian Eno, he released his first ambient EP, Blue Baths, in 2023. His atmospheric, colorful approach captured the attention. He went on to sign to a number of ambient labels, including Mare Nostrum and Ambient Soundscapes.
In 2025, enchanted by the mysterious improvisations of ambient artist Chihei Harakeyama, he released the Remember the Clouds EP, bringing the post-rock haze of electric guitar into his musical universe. The same year, he inaugurated a new sound with the Endless Vanishing Lines EP, whose evanescent melodies are imbued with neoclassicism.
For him, ambient music is a genre that questions the listener, invents new sounds and creates unreal spaces and temporalities.
