In 2023, Jean-Luc Monteagudo became known to the general public under the stage name of Jeck, when he took part in the TV singing competition The Voice. The singer and musician, born in Courcouronnes on June 19, 1992 and based in the Alpes-Maritimes region of France, drew inspiration from his premature elimination for his first single, "Défaite", which racked up hundreds of thousands of views on online video platforms. The track established his musical style, somewhere between chanson and folk-pop, and launched his artistic career, relegating his former life as a digital marketing professor to the dustbin of oblivion. He follows this up with the single "Parapluie", produced by Erick Ness. Released in September 2023, the track reaches number 21 in the French charts in November and is certified gold. Jeck followed this up with "Sans toi", a romantic acoustic ballad, in 2024, while preparing his first studio album, released on May 31. Comprising 16 tracks, including "Parapluie", certified gold in the meantime, Moi, C'Est Jeck reaches number 24 in the French charts. Jeck continued with covers of French chanson classics such as Renaud's "Mistral gagnant" and Daniel Balavoine's "Tous les cris les S.O.S." , alongside duets with Carla for "M'envoler" and "A qui le tour", followed by their joint album, Oxygène. Released in October 2025, it reached No. 19 in the SNEP chart.
