Daan is the solo project of Daan Stuyveen, a Belgian singer born in Leuven on September 24, 1969, who first made a name for himself with Dead Man Ray. The influence of this group is still palpable on Profools, Daan's first album, released in 1999, which is essentially made up of songs recorded by Daan Stuyveen between 1993 and 1999. Building a universe blending rock and electro influences, Daan then produced a dense discography with an average project every two years, from Bridge Burner (#45) in 2002 to The Ride (#13) in 2022, via Victory (#2) in 2004, Manhay (#2) in 2009 and Le Franc Belge, the only album to reach #1 in 2013 and Nada (#9) in 2016. That same year, Daan made a name for himself at a tribute to the victims of the Brussels bombings on March 22, performing "La Brabançonne " in Belgium's three national languages, as well as Dick Annegarn's famous song "Bruxelles".
