Shitdisco was a Scottish dance‑punk group formed in 2003 in Glasgow while its members studied at the Glasgow School of Art; the line‑up included Joel Stone on bass, guitar and vocals, Joe Reeves on bass, guitar and vocals, Jan Lee on bass and keyboards, and Darren Cullen on drums. Their breakthrough came with the single "Disco Blood" / "I Know Kung Fu" released in December 2005, which sold out quickly and secured a deal with Fierce Panda Recordings. The band followed with the Reactor Party EP on 23 October 2006, which entered the UK Singles Chart at number 73, and the full‑length album Kingdom Of Fear on 17 April 2007, produced by former guitarist and producer Luke Smith and featuring tracks such as "Reactor Party" and "I Know Kung Fu". After touring extensively across the United Kingdom, Europe, Bangkok and Istanbul, and supporting The Rapture’s UK/Irish tour in March 2007, Shitdisco released the EP I Know Kung‑Fu on 12 November 2007. The group disbanded in 2009, concluding a career marked by underground club success, chart presence, and a reputation for energetic live performances that blended influences from Talking Heads, The Rapture, and early dance‑rock pioneers.
