Susie Ibarra, born on November 15, 1970, in Anaheim, California, is an American percussionist and composer of Filipino descent. She began playing piano at age four and later explored punk rock before discovering jazz during her time at Sarah Lawrence College. Ibarra's career took off after studying with notable jazz figures like Vernel Fournier and Milford Graves. Her debut album Drum Talk was released in 1998, followed by Radiance in 1999. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with a diverse range of artists including Pauline Oliveros, John Zorn, and Dave Douglas. Notable albums include Folkloriko (2004), which explores Filipino kulintang music, and Perception (2018). Ibarra was named Best Percussionist in the 2010 Downbeat International Readers Poll and received a TED Fellowship in 2010.
