Just released my latest single, "Heart Next to Heart."
Steve started as a drummer in 2nd grade and has been a musician ever since. When summer evening parties were held in his neighborhood, the kids would be out in the yards playing, but he would be up on the porch with the adults who were playing bluegrass and folk music. In 6th grade, he took 6 months of guitar lessons and later he did the requisite Zeppelin/Rock band thing in High School. Complementing that was some highly regimented music and life training with the Casper Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps. He fell for Country music in the '90s, and in the '00s founded Free Will as a contemporary Christian band in his home church, FCC in Crystal Lake, IL. He moved to Greenville, SC and rediscovered the bluegrass crowd, but focused most of his musical energy performing with a long-time friend, Kelly, in the duo Off the Record. In his spare time, he records some of the tunes he's written along the journey. He's looking forward to getting them all out there, and then seeing what sparks the next writing phase.
