Jérôme Hantaï, born in 1961, is a French musician known for his roles as a pianist and violist. He studied with Wieland Kuijken at theRoyal Conservatory of Brussels, earning a First Prize in 1984. Hantaï's career began with performances alongside early music pioneers such as Sigiswald Kuijken, René Jacobs, Philippe Herreweghe, and Jean-Claude Malgoire. He co-founded ensembles like the Orchestre Baroque d’Île-de-France and Ensemble Orlando Gibbons, and played in the Trio Hantaï with his brothers Marc and Pierre. In 2018, he formed the Duo Gordis-Hantaï with claveciniste Lillian Gordis. As a pianist, Hantaï has recorded works by Joseph Haydn and Mozart on historical instruments, while as a violist, he has released albums featuring pieces by Marin Marais. His recordings have earned critical acclaim, including two Diapasons d’Or and a "Choc" from Le Monde de la musique.
