Born and raised in the small town of Kraaifontein with the longing to expand his horizons and escape the monotony of small town life Keanan turned to music. Musicality runs in his family with his dad playing in a band for as long as he can remember and his grandfather playing guitar, Keanan grew up with The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty as a soundtrack.
As a quiet kid that lived a lot in his head, his dad taught him how to play the guitar when his parents got divorced around the age of 11, hooked on the guitar and the way he felt when he played it soon became a vice, and then a passion. As a boy of few words the guitar seemed to ignite a fire, the words that used to be trapped in his head came tumbling out and he discovered a love for writing poetry and lyrics and more importantly the ability to express himself in a way that might resonate with others.
