New album 'Vandari' out now.
The band was started in 1996 in Rybnik, Poland and back then it was called DAMNED SOULS, later, ALTAIR and finally CORTEGE. The first lineup was Artur Ambroży – guitar, Artur Majerowicz – guitar , Sebastian Bartek – bass / wokal and Grzegorz Kunicki – drums. However, after just one gig Artur Majerowicz and Grzegorz left the band. Replacement was
found quite soon: Łukasz Schubert became a new guitarist and Michał Hoszycki a new drummer in CORTEGE. With this lineup the group recorded two demos: Awareness in 2000 and Introduction to the Slaughter of Your Gods the following later. CORTEGE started gigging intensively both in Poland and Czech Republic.
Unfortunately, in 2002 Łukasz and Michał abandoned the band. After a couple of months of searching new musicians CORTEGE was joined by a drummer, Kamil Szuszkiewicz, and a guitarist Radosław Nawrocki. In summer 2004 they recorded their third demo called V-666. Shortly after the new demo was out, Kamil And Radosław left the band and Artur went abroad so the band was on hold for a
couple of years.
In 2009 Artur and Sebastian started to play together again, soon Kamil Szuszkieiwcz, who recorded V-666 returned to the band, and Michał Janczak became the new guitarist. This line up recorded two albums: Anachoreo in 2012 and Touching the Void in 2015. When in 2016 their new album was finally out Michał announced that he could no longer be a part of CORTEGE. In spring 2016 Łukasz Schubert, who recorded two first demos with CORTEGE, rejoined the band to suport them during the live performances, however he left the band again before the group decided to enter the recording studio. Finally, CORTEGE’s third album was recorded by Sebastian Bartek – vocal / bass, Łukasz Kamil Szuszkiewicz – drums and Artur Ambroży – guitars.
