LAWRENZ works to produce “that 92’ feeling” nostalgic vibe, combining breakbeats and hard-hitting lo-fi overdriven 909 percussions paired with the classic synth sounds and samples of the KORG M1 and 303 amongst others, hoping to frame some significant emotion in amongst grooving and grumbling drums.
In his notoriously fruity DJ sets, he digs deep and enjoys mixing it up, preferring to keep his scope wide and mind open to endless possibilities, pairing Studio 54 high energy weapons with heavier driving techno bangers, whilst breaking things up with the occasional spot of ambient, classical, or breakbeat.
Currently in Berlin, Germany he works as a sound engineer, composer and producer - operating out of his own recording studio at the eastern bloc (GDR’s) Funkhaus recording
complex. He is gaining experience in live studio recording there and exercising his skills as a film and TV composer.
After placing himself at the heart of it all, the future truly looks as eclectic as his music collection and work.
