After graduating from the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, the original plan was to raise my profile in TV and film to fast track myself into playing lead roles in West End musicals. But, after projects such as: Black Mirror, Line of Duty, Doctor Who, Bulletproof, Johnny English Reborn and Dominion, I was very much a part of the screen industry, with no singing in sight.
Until… I landed the role of La’an Noonien-Singh in Paramount’s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. In a totally unexpected way, the show gave me the means and confidence to explore my voice and the world of music. Like a movie, I was serendipitously connected with award winning producer Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, Shawn Mendes, Shania Twain - the list goes on) who produced my debut EP ‘Twin Flames’.
I had one rule whilst embarking on this journey - everything has to be authentically me. Used to hiding behind characters, this is the first time I’m expressing my true-self to the world. The breakup with my ‘Twin Flame’ was the inspiration behind the album which is comprised of four original songs: “Twin Flames,” “No Blame,” “Can’t Show Love,” and “I Get to Choose,”. With the full circle of emotions, I take you on a journey of passion, pain, healing, and self-love.
Twin Flames is just the beginning. I spent the best part of a year writing, producing and exploring different styles, so as they say in TV…
