Jesús Hernández Cifuentes, known professionally as Jesús Cifuentes or Cifu, was born on July 28, 1966 in Valladolid, Spain. He began his musical journey in local bands while studying at the La Salle Institute of Valladolid. In 1986, he co-founded Celtas Cortos, a Spanish rock band known for their folk-infused sound. Cifuentes served as the lead singer and guitarist until his departure from the group in 2002. During this period, he contributed to notable albums such as Salida de emergencia (1989) and Tranquilo majete (1993). He also released a solo album, El caimán verde, in 1995. After leaving Celtas Cortos, Cifuentes formed Cifu & La Calaña Sound, releasing the album Horizonte in 2004. In 2006, he returned to Celtas Cortos and continued to collaborate with various artists.
