At 39 and 42 years old, Julien Tirard & Nello Fraboni aka LABO 14 have forged a good reputation on the techno and electro planet in France and well beyond borders. A passion for music that took its first steps more than 30 years ago.

Born on September 9, 1983 in Domfront (Normandy), Julien grew up in the village of Perrou (61) where music entered his life at the age of 5.

At 12 years old, Julien will do his first concert in duo with Fabien Lorh pianist. Around the age of 17 he began composing electronic music in the department of Calvados (14) and created Labo 14. After passing an audiovisual and electronic Bac (graduating) he takes off...

Among them, Nello Fraboni, native of Los Angeles, from a French mother an Artist tour photographer and of an American father: Robert Alan Fraboni, record producer and sound engineer, known for his work with Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, Joe Cocker…
Nello says “I arrived in France at the age of 5, and I lived in Paris for 10 years. Since my first day on earth I have always been immersed in the artistic and musical world I became autodidactic. My first contact with electronic music was in 92 wit the Detroit electro techno scene and since I never left this world”
“ I’ve moved and travelled all my life and I’m not stopping this is my way of life now I decided to move back to the USA and live on the road“
For me says Julien I was trained in the field and took 10 years to master the management of a recording studio. Being a musician helped me a lot. In 2003 a producer contacted me to sign a first vinyl and digital EP».
Under the name of Labo 14, Julien and Nello give birth to «Trollybus, circus 03» a four tracks of hardtek/ hardfloor.
In 2003, the first album Saturne was released in the big distribution followed by Neuro Vibration Bloc accord and Armageddon.
Very quickly Julien took the status of intermittent and it will be the beginning of a long collaboration with Nello Fraboni.
Labo 14 also had the chance to perfom across Europe: Italy, Germany, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Russia…
In Festivals such as: Electromind, X Massacre, etc.
I am a composer, performer and producer. Nello is a producer, manager and graphic designer.
Over time, our musical style has evolved from techno to electro, and our duo Labo 14 founded Opulsif productions in 2009.”
Sometimes, Opulsif composes and writes custom instrumentals, and collaborates with bands like in 2010 with Da Krew, for an EP 4 tracks.
In 2011, to mark 10 years of touring in France and abroad, Opulsif organized a festival in Bragayrac in the Haute-Garonne, with 2,000 people.
In the same year, the two friends launched the Sun Maya, which could bring together between 4 and 5,000 outdoor festival-goers. At the same time the Moon Maya Festival which will bring together up to 2,000 people at the Inox club in Toulouse with Progressive Psytrance and Trance Goa.
Now Nello has left France to settle in the USA,
Nevertheless, their collaboration continues.

After reissuing Maximus 01, they are currently refining their 70th vinyl "Vol 739.
Today, after 20 years of collaboration, the duo has sold 100,000 vinyls. A great Franco-American success.

Une passion pour la musique qui a fait ses premiers pas voilà plus de 30 ans.

Né le 9 septembre 1983 à Domfront (Normandie), Julien a grandi dans le bourg de Perrou-61- ou la musique est entrée dans sa vie à 5 ans.
« un jour, je suis passé devant la vitrine du local où Daniel Bazille enseignait la batterie. J’ai eu le déclic: je vais essayer… »
Pendant 10 ans, il va faire l’apprentissage du solfège et de l’instrument.
« J’ai aussi appris les percussions et à jouer en groupe ».
A 12 ans, Julien fera son premier concert en duo avec Fabien Lorh pianiste.
C’est vers l’âge de 17 ans qu’il va commencer à composer de la musique électronique dans le département du Calvados (14) et crée le Labo 14.
Après avoir passé un Bac audiovisuel et électronique il prend son envol…
« Je suis parti m’installer à Toulouse à 19 ans suite à des vacances,durant
ce séjour j’y ai rencontré des musiciens ».
-Premier EP à 20 ans-
Parmi eux, Nello Fraboni, natif de Los Angeles, d’une mère française, photographe de tournées d’artistes, et d’un père américain : Robert Alan Fraboni, producteur de disques et ingénieur du son, connu pour son travail avec Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, Joe Cocker…
« Je suis arrivé en France à 5 ans, et j’ai vécu 10 ans à Paris 10 ans en region Toulousaine, dans le Sud Est, en Inde et au États Unis ce qui ma amené a devenir autodidacte. J’ai toujours baigné dans l’univers artistique et musical. Mon premier contact avec la musique électronique fut en 1992 avec le style electro techno de Detroit ».
« Pour ma part, confie Julien, j’ai été formé dans le milieu et j’ai mis 10 ans à maîtriser la gestion d’un studio d’enregistrement. Le fait d’être musicien m’a beaucoup aidé. En 2003, un producteur m’a contacté pour signer un premier EP en vinyle et numérique ».
Sous le nom de Labo 14, Julien et Nello donnent naissance à « Trollybus, circus 03 » un quatre titres de hardtek / hardfloor.
En 2003 le premier album Saturne sort dans la grande distribution suivi de Neuro Vibration ,Bloc accord et Armageddon.
Très vite, Julien prend le statut d’intermittent , ce sera le début d’une longue collaboration avec Nello Fraboni.
Labo 14 a eu aussi la chance de s’exprimer à travers l’Europe : Italie, Allemagne, Espagne, Autriche, Suisse, République Tchèque, Russie…
Dans des Festivals comme : l’Electromind , la X Massacre …
« Pour ma part, je suis compositeur, interprète et producteur. Nello est producteur, manager et graphiste.
Au fil du temps, notre style musical a évolué de la techno vers l’électro, et notre duo Labo 14 à fondé Opulsif productions en 2009. »
De temps en temps, Opulsif compose et écrit des instrumentales sur mesure ,et collabore avec des groupes comme en 2010 avec Da Krew, pour un EP 4 titres.
En 2011, afin de marquer ses 10 ans de tournées en France et à l’étranger, Opulsif organise un festival à Bragayrac en Haute-Garonne, avec 2 000 personnes.
La même année, les deux compères lancent le Sun Maya qui pouvait réunir entre 4 et 5 000 festivaliers en extérieur. En parallèle, c’est le Moon Maya Festival, qui va voir le jour réunissant jusqu’à 2 000 personnes à l’Inox club de Toulouse , avec de la Progressive à la Psytrance en passant par la Trance Goa.
A présent Nello a quitté la France pour s’installer dans l’Etat de New York,
néanmoins ,leur collaboration se poursuit.

Après avoir réédité Maximus 01, ils peaufinent actuellement leurs 70 èmes vinyle "Vol 739″.
