Jemiriye's story is indeed an inspiring one, reflecting a passionate journey from the local stages of Lagos, Nigeria, to international recognition through tours of Europe, the USA and Africa. She made her debut as a finalist on the Nigerian Idol program. Her music, characterized by the fusion of traditional Yoruba sounds with modern Afropop and soul, reflects her personal journey and cultural roots.

Her songs are much more than music. They tell of her life experiences, challenges and triumphs. In 2005, Jemiriye gave up her singing career, left university and began living in hospital to care for her mother for two years, following a horrific car accident in Nigeria. This experience and what she witnessed during this difficult period inspired her music and the social issues to which she has dedicated her career.
