Leonidas UK, Rapper. Growing up in a musical household he was always exposed to the musical talents of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Nirvana & a heavy Reggae influence from his Jamaican heritage (Beres Hammond, Barrington Levy, Dennis Brown the list goes on).
It wasn't until his pops would let us stay up a little later as kids when he got his true introduction to Hip-Hop, watching Yo MTV Raps recordings on video tape & enjoying the sounds & rhyme schemes of Rap legends Wu-Tang Clan, N.W.A., Mobb Deep & Public Enemy to name a few.
This eventually influenced his taste in music with his oldest brother often playing Dipset, G-Unit but also showing him his love for R&B Jagged Edge, 112 & Musiq Soulchild.
Leonidas had a wide range of musical influence but also heavily enjoyed the image of the rap collectives & started writing his own stuff when he heard The Game The Documentary album which was to him the sound the new school, influenced by the old school (he had grown up on). Effectively, Leonidas was known for rapping to Grime music as this was the first time music seemed like a potential career choice with the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Roll Deep etc rapping with British slang and sounding like him and his peers in the UK.
Leonidas’s documented rap career starts around 2007/08 however he didn't officially start releasing music till much later. Since his official debut in 2018 he has managed to capture the attention of BBC Introducing, BBC 1Xtra and Kiss FM amongst other national radio stations.
